Instagram or TikTok: Where’s the fun?

Social media platforms come and go. In fact, this happens very often online. One day one thing is popular and then the next day the other one garners more fame. That’s how nowadays, for example, BetVictor Casino Bonus is one of the most famous offers for people interested in that type of entertainment – and hopefully it will stay on the first place! But let’s get back directly to social media platforms. As we were saying, popularity comes and goes. In fact, you may remember a few that were popular just a few years ago and then faded away without much fanfare (R.I.P. Vine). You probably also remember how it felt to adopt a new service ahead of most of your peers. Well, right now, the two that are battling it out for the number one spot are TikTok and Instagram!
There’s a new kid in town
Although it was made in 2016 it’s still relatively new, in terms of social media years. This is a social media platform where you can create and share short videos, music and comedy—is capturing the attention of consumers everywhere for its unique brand of entertainment.
The app is widely popular among younger users: according to Pew Research Center, 80% of 13-18 year olds report using it, as well as 52% of adults ages 19-24. These figures are even higher among certain demographics: 83% of Hispanics report using the app, while 70% report using it daily or several times per week (that’s more than Instagram!).
It has also been valued at $50, it’s run by the same company behind Musical.ly (a similar app) and Douyin (China’s version of TikTok).
While most people know about TikTok now thanks to celebrities posting their own content on the service, it wasn’t until recently that brands started taking note too and launching campaigns on Tiktok with great results! It has also made many content creators popular and launched them into stardom.
It may seem like most of the videos are just people showing off their outfits or trying really hard to be funny in a very serious way but the algorithm will serve you what it thinks you want! Personally, it can be a great source of education as many people post insightful tips from the software developing industry.
IG
Going live on Instagram is a great way to share an experience with others, but it’s not just for the big moments in life. You can go live with your friends, pets, kids and significant other—and you can even get creative by inviting celebrities or brands to join you. Obviously TikTok also has a live feature that offers a chance to send gifts to the person going live. But even with this, Instagram still wins out when it comes to monetization and ways influencers can earn money.
It also offers great targeted ads opportunities for advertisers, and TikTok is a bit behind on this. Since 60% of TikTok’s total users are between 16-24, they can’t be targeted with many types of ads.
So which one is better? The answer to that question depends on what you’re looking for from an app: are you looking for something with a lot of social interaction? Or would you rather just watch pretty videos? If the latter sounds like your jam, then TikTok might be right up your alley! But if social interaction is more important to you, Instagram may be better suited for your needs.
TikTok is definitely worth a shot if you’re looking for some extra fun in your life. It doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon, so even if it’s not the right fit for you, you might want to cave in and give it a chance, we’ll be definitely seeing more of it in the future!
